April 23 at 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 pm (rain date of April 30th at 1:00 p.m.): Paulina Mena, Ph.D., Central College, Session on native bees


April 29 at 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 am: Russ Benedict, Ph.D., Central College, Session on migratory birds

April 29 at 1:00 – 3:00 pm: Marla Mertz, Marion County Conservation and Kristin Siewert, Central College, Session on butterflies and dragonflies


May 7 at 1pm-3 pm: Tom Rosburg, Ph.D., Drake University, Session on spring flora.

May 20: 9:00 – 11:00 am: Cathy Haustein, Ph.D. and Nicole Palenske, Ph.D. Central College, Water testing and survey for amphibians and reptiles



What plants at Big Rock Park are endangered species? Join our first event to find out.

Lily, Aaron, and Ayden test the water for phosphates. Fortunately, they didn't find any. Phosphate would indicate fertilizer contamination.
